Garmin upgrade question
Hey everyone. New guy here. I have a question about upgrading my equipment. I currently have a Striker 4 that I have converted over to portable to use when I fish on docks. I have the GT8 ducer with it. I was wondering if I should move up to the 7CV or if there was another option that would be better. Not sure if the 7 would be anything but a larger screen or if there are more options on it than the 4. Typically I am using it in flasher mode because I am fishing straight down. I am not opposed to doing another unit and building some kind of pole for a different transducer. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks! I think my move will be to look at a different unit with a transducer that can provide more options.

Next up will be a echomap but only fishing from a dock I’m not sure you will gain many of the available functions. Only thing possible in my mind would be an echomap and livescope to look out and or down from the dock every other funtion you need forward motion 2-3 mph for side image to be clear and not drawn out as well as 2d. If you have a boat or plan on getting one then an upgrade may be worth looking into. That’s just my opinion and I may be wrong or missing something
