Default Ethernet cables to connect my livescope

What do I have to do to connect my two garmin together, I bought a Ethernet cable to connect them, do I have to turn anything on the unit for this to work? Can I buy a Walmart brand cable or what, I have one from Walmart to test it, I will buy a better cable if needed.

With a 106SV you only need the cable to network them. Here is a Youtube link. How To Network Your Garmin Units. STEP BY STEP. - YouTube

Buy the Garmin cable. Don't skimp on cheap network cables. They are water proof where they connect to the unit. And yes, they will share waypoints.
