Default Power wire connection for old Lowrance unit?

The Hook4 unit shown above has been in my basement for years and for the life of me can't figure out why it came with such thin power wires. Any idea the best way to hook it to the battery? Bad enough the plug has to be jammed in tight to turn on and even then turns off ever so often with the least motion. I decided to make it portable for my smaller boats. Works good - when it works.

Good thing tech support at Lowrance emailed a user manual or I would have been sh** out of luck.

Ring eye terminals would be the method I would use. Most auto parts stores have them. I like the ones with the heat shrink insulation on them. They give a little more weather resistance to the connection
