    Default Livscope mounting options

Here lately I've given more thought to getting a livscope but not sure of a few of the ins and outs of the set up and working of them. I do a good bit of hunting out of my boat in the winter and that's what it is is primarily made for. 1751 excel viper. Of course I fish a lot also in the spring and fall. I've got a Terrova with quick disconnect so removing that isn't an issue and a lowrence on the back that we usually leave on during hunting season to help navigate. Is there a way or an option to mount the black box externally with the head unit on a bracket so that it can be removed fairly easily? I am also curious about the best mounting options for the transducer. I see some running them off a separate pole and some running them off the trolling motor, curious as to the pros and cons of either one?

Check out youtube. There are lots of videos on diy livescope mounts & poles. Personally the way i have mine is a diy pvc pole mounted in a bench top bicycle repair stand & am glad i done it that way, but some want them on the trolling motor so as not to have to work a pole with one hand & hold a rod with the other. I actually run the trolling motor & scan out to 60 feet looking at banks, bluffs & drops etc. looking for more structure while moving between spots if i have another spot in the area & find a lot of offshore structure this way which works good for me because i'd way rather vertical jig than cast or bobber fish for crappie.

Look into a portable ice fishing setup with a homemade pvc pole for ducer and a couple 1”1/2 ram mounts for the pvc that’s what I run real early in the season between ice out and open water but then I hard mount everything once I know ice season is over

Should be able to come up with something. Ice fishermen take it in and out of their huts.

I have 1 set up as a portable. I can use in my big boat, kayak, and even on fishing dock by just switching out main pvc pole length.
I’ve utilized a Magellan bait cooler (19qt) that is large enough to accommodate my battery, black box, and all the wires cables. Some ram suction mounts to keep from drilling holes and very portable.
Probably not for everyone but really suit my portable needs.
