    Default Lowrance Headache!!

I have all Garmins in my boat except for a Lowrance Elite FS 7 that I removed from my console and now use as a map unit in the bow. With manuals and even talking to a young lady at Lowrance, for the life of me I can't figure out how to disable trails from appearing on my map screen. If I have several fish structures within a few yards of each other the trails block my view of the waypoint icons. Are there any Lowrance users on here that can perhaps give me step by step instructions on how to do this?

There is something there to keep the trails from showing, I can't remember what it is. Once you are in the menu to delete, maybe you can figure it out.

There should be something in the trails menu where you can select it to display or not or maybe record or not.

I was able to figure out how to clear the present track for a few minutes then it starts again. Lowrance makes a wide solid line that will clutter the screen and hide your waypoint icons as you circle the fishing spot. I'm hoping there is a way to just turn the tracks off all together.

You can delete all existing trails to remove them from the map but as you said, your unit can continue to create new ones.

You can disable trails all together by going to the Home screen, clicking the into the Settings (gear icon on the top left), going into the Chart options, and then turning Trails to Off.

Also, make sure you have no overlays. Sometimes those can clutter the screen if you don't have the opacity set low. Go to the Map screen, click on the Menu, on the Overlay option is set to None.

Hopefully those options work out for you.Name: PXL_20230208_022016196~2.jpg

Thanks Ikal32, I can get all the way to where you show but my trails are set to off. That's what's puzzling me. What is overlay?

Overlay is an option to add features on your map based on your selection. Genesis will add a swath of scanned depth contours that you've gathered from driving over. Heatmap should color your trail based on water temperature. Bottom structure should overlay color based on bottom hardness or sides can data? I don't recall all of the options but it's something that may be covering your map if you have it turned on. It made me think of it when you said a wide line since most trails are just simple thin black lines.

Thanks, I'll check that out. Seems like I remember Overlay is set on "Structure" right now.

Got it!! Thanks Ikal32!!! It was the Overlay. It was set to "STRUCTURE" instead of off.
