It is not hard at all. Power and ground to the black box, run the transducer wire to the black box, and then run the communication cable from the graph to the black box. An adapter may be needed to plug into the cradle of some graphs, it's included.
From there you just need to set the gain and range on the water. It's easy.

On my newest, 106sv I fished the first 2 days on default settings. I was Ketchin fish too fast to mess with fine tuning settings.
3rd trip out the fish were not cooperative so I had more time to dial in.
