Default Echomap 126 - create waypoint when ever you take a screenshot

All ... my HBirds will create a waypoint whenever you take a screenshot. How do you do that with Garmin Echomap? Specifically the Ultra 126?

Hmmmm…. I’m thinking the silence means that is feature Garmin doesn’t support. …./

My 106 doesn't do it. Not sure about the 126.

    Well, kinda of, sort of.

You can't move the cursor over a snapshot waypoint and show a screenshot file and enlarge it like the HB.

And you can't view your Garmin screenshots on the Garmin graph at all, at least on the Echomap series units.

Taking a screenshot on a Garmin is a long, tedious "HOME" button press.

This is what what I do to take Garmin screenshots that I may want to save to study or share at a later date.

Hang in there as it sounds very convoluted but sometimes worth the effort for a nice screenshot of the Livescope screen.

If I want the the screenshot with the location marked with the cursor crosshair, touch the screen(freezes screen), swipe cursor crosshair to object, press home to take the screenshot, then touch the bubble with the little + sign at the top right of screen to save the waypoint.

If you want just a nice screenshot (without accurate gps coordinates), touch the screen(freezes screen) swipe the center of the cross hair to either lower corner(for a clean picture) and then hold the HOME button to capture screenshot.

If you just want the the waypoint, touch screen, move crosshair to object, press bubble with + sign at top right of screen.

If you want to mark the waypoint where the boat is sitting (graph position), touch screen and leave the crosshair in center and press bubble in upper right corner of the screen

For such an advanced tech company Garmin really lacks in this department.

I run both Garmin and HB units.
All my navigation, waypoints and usable screenshots (HB snapshots) are done with the HBs as they are tied into the Tmotor with IPilot Link.

All my waypoints (Garmin and HB) are run through HB PC and loaded back into the machines so they all match.

    Good luck
