Default Is their a way to increase the number or waypoints a humminbird helix can store?

apparently 5,000 is not enough and i sure hate to delete what i have stored, can i add a memory card to increase storage or possible save what i have to a card, delete from the unit but use the card to show those waypoints and have the unit to store a fresh 5,000? this is on a humminbird helix 12 first generation.

Helix units I’m familiar with will only hold 2750 waypoints. I have to use 3( and soon 4!) SD cards for my waypoints from Ky Dam to Hwy 79 bridge on Ky Lake. It’s a pain in the rear to have to change cards when I move into an area not covered by the card in the units.

you are correct its 2750, so you can store them on a card, keep that card in to show those but erase the units data to store more? id love to "borrow" those cards

DUX is correct that HELIX maximum waypoint capacity is 2750 ...

Options for managing more waypoints than that is ...

*Separate cards for different lakes (or sections of a lake) ... this requires exporting, deleting, and loading each time you move to that different lake (or section of a lake) ...

    *Multiple units Ethernet connected ...

    *SOLIX/APEX waypoint capacity 20,000 waypoints

This is not possible ... the unit never displays waypoints from the SD Card ...

The NAV data on the SD Card is copied to the unit internal memory and then unit displays the NAV data from the internal memory ...

so your essentially saying I need a !5'' apex? thats what im hearing, lol

i have my helix connected via ethernet to an 1159 uprfront on the bow, could i load my waypoints from the helix onto a sd card, delete from the unit, load onto the humminbird 1159, then when they are both on i could see my old ones plus have the new space for new ones on the helix, would that work? how many waypoints does a 1159 save?

Correct ... Ethernet sharing allows access to more waypoint storage ...

    1159 waypoint capacity is 2500 ...
HELIX waypoint capacity is 2750 ...
