A few questions on hooking up. How are yall installing the TD on a pole. RMP says they are no 0 degree mounts available? Also on back of black box there is a ground screw, do I attach to ground side of battery ?

From what I know if you are referring to the little silver connector on the left of my black box this answer is no. The power cable is for connecting to the battery. The little silver connector is called the water ground. Garmin recommends connecting it to the engine NEGATIVE bus or to the block to have it grounded to water.

I also understand that water ground isn’t a necessity if you are powering your battery to your cranking battery. I think it is more for use when system is being powered by a separate battery system.

What kind of boat are you mounting to? Rickie @ Podunk Ideas makes a da ducer mount. There are lots of them out there. Fishing Specialties makes em. Cornfield Crappie Gear etc.

I have a pvc pole ready to install. Was needing the 0 degree mount for pole. I am hooking it to a stand alone 30 amp lithium battery. Do I need to run a wire from my cranking battery ground?

I have a dedicated lithium battery in my rod locker & when i called & asked Garmin about the water ground they said i didn't need to use it since i had a stand alone battery setup. I've never had any interference whatsoever either with it like this.

I also have a standalone battery for my LS/Garmin 93sv and don't use the ground connection on the box. No interference. (Fiberglass boat ... LVS32 tdx is mounted on TM shaft)
My buddy, "slabeye" does not use the ground connection on his, either (fiberglass boat/TM shaft mounted tdx). His fishing buddy has a Tracker and I don't think he uses the ground connection.
