I use them at work or robot interface cables. They work well to cancel out noise. If I was having noise issues I would certainly try them to see if they clear it up
Any of you guys use ferrite rings or ferrite tape or such on your transducers

My noise just started today. TM and power to the Garmin are on separate batteries for sure. But power to the TM and the transducer cable run in the same cable tray. The graph sits fairly close the TM. It's actually pretty bad and can't adjust it out. Gonna give it a try.

Im that situation I believe I would use the tape. Also try to keep the cables separated as far as possible

If this don't work I got some copper tubing and shroud it

EMI tape works well and may be a added insurance with the ferrite rings. If applicable, run the power and transducer cables separated from each other. Wire twist the power cables, wrap entirely with emi tape, add a choke on the power cable battery connection, install the ferrite rings on transducer cable and that may clear the interference. It may be be overkill, but I can’t stand feedback on my graphs. Good luck and if you find a different solution, pass on the knowledge please.

Stopped in and saw a guy that installs marine electronics for a living. He also reminded me of the battery charger being hooked up to the battery can cause this. Had forgotten about that one.

Used them on a previous boat and they reduced the noise by about 70%. They work but I would always isolate the units power, route transducer cables away from the TM power, etc. before adding them.
