    Thank you all.

    I like the battery box idea as well but went ahead and bought the APEX sun shades. They are 15% off right now at their website and cheaper overall than on Ebay. I will report back after trying them out.

    Don't forget that Rickie, our local DF/FF guru builds an apparatus that turns your DF/FF cover into a sun shade.
    Easy to use and never gets lost;

    da cover holdit - Podunk (po dungk) A small isolated town, region, or place that is regarded as unimportant. . . .

    Please Wait... | Cloudflare works well for my Helix 10 and Garmin 8610xsv and is a must in Texas.

    I have the Berley Pro, but it is a pita to install. I like the looks of the Apex better, and will order one.

    Hope their product is better than their spellin'.

    Not a shade but I made it to protect the plugs from the jumping carp we have would hate to have them wipe the plug out of the back of my garmin. Could easily add a top to it to share the sun. Pretty easy to make
