The 27 is for GPSMAP units, the 20 is for ECHOMAP units is my understanding. They are the same except written for those units. I’m not sure what that is for the black box. Garmin Guru mentions this in his video.

I think the black box is 2.58.

Thanks for the information SuperDave336 I appreciate the feedback, I just purchased a 106sv and livescope and plan on setting it up today so this is some great information.

I just updated my echomap uhd 93 sv & gls 10 yesterday. The head unit is 20.00 & the gls10 is 2.58. According to garmin this update has nothing whatsoever to do with livescope, but this is the best looking imagery i've had by far.

Garmin guru said it was the best too. Especially since 19.10. Glad it’s working good for you

    Thanks for any feedback.

John, last night before going to the lake I updated to 20.00 & 2.58 & really don't see how it could get much better. Hard to believe that this particular update is not supposed to have anything to do with livescope per garmin. It is by far the clearest my imagery has ever been. I've been in boats with megalive too & i'll have to say it's every bit as good as any megalive imagery that i've saw. I'm very pleased & my buddy was impressed too.

Thanks for the update on the latest change, I tried to update my 106 this weekend but it would not take, so I talked to a Garmin tec this morning and he told me that they were having issues with some down loading so he’s shipping me a chip to upload the latest software. I have to say Garmin’s tec support has been awesome every time I’ve called for help.

Yep they're top notch. I've used a lot of different garmin equipment over the years from e collars & tracking systems when i coonhunted & a gps to get the hunts too & now chart plotters & live sonar & if needed Garmin is always outstanding.
