Default LVS34 connecting to two Garmin charts?

Hoping to get my LVS34 sometime soon. Am considering adding a larger LS to the deck and moving the current 8610xsv to the console. Can I connect both units to the LVS34? Thanks to all those that share their knowledge.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't have GPSmap units, I have the Echomap series. I looked at the Garmin website, the 8610 is listed as having 2 network ports (same as the Echomap Ultra units I have) you should only need to add a network cable to be able to view Livescope on the 8610 and the larger screen you add. You would network the displays by connecting them with an ethernet cable.

Keep in mind that your 8610 can only be networked with other GPSmaps units, not with the Echomap series.

Where people run into problems is with the 9" echomaps that only have 1 network port. They will sometimes buy multiple 9 in units, and LS only to find out that to network everything together they need a network switch to be able to connect more than 1 thing.

With 2 network ports you can daisy chain multiple devices. My set up is LS to 10" Echomap Ultra to 12" Echomap Ultra to 9" Echomap, I can see Livescope on all of the screens, share transducer and maps on all 3 displays. The 9" is at the end of the line due to only one network port.

Appreciate it. Often I read something on a website (such as Garmin), see that it has two ports but may just not realize it takes 15 different cords, bells and whistles (smile) so reach out to our crappie community and then receive a simple and effective message. Thanks so much for your well crafted response. Dennis on Lake Austin.

He has it spot on. Just to double clarify you wont be connecting the LVS to both units, youll connect it to one and network the unit to the other. You can view everything between the two units. Might as well put side imaging ducer on the back of the boat also and run it to the console unit, then you can view the SI on the bow as well as someone behind you can watch livescope from the console if they want.

Thanks for the clarification although I assumed that. I have my Helix 10 on deck along with LS. Transducer for Helix 10 is on trolling motor and transducer for LS is on converted remote controlled trolling motor that I removed head and foot and used pole to affix the LVS32 to. Works exceptionally well as I use the Helix 10 for Nav, SI and DI and I can use small remote to adjust the LVS to stay on the brush or structure. Cable saver allows me to use powerful Helix 10 transducer on Ulterra.
