    Mine arrived by Fedex yesterday.

Regarding the GT54 and GT56, the 54 is shorter and less powerful than the 56. If you are planning on mounting on a trolling motor the 54 might be a better option. I actually traded a new GT54 with someone on BBCboards for his GT56 because it was to long to mount on his trolling motor. I did talk with him on the phone to let him know that I felt I was getting the better end of the deal, but he was happy to do the trade as the GT56 wouldn't work for what he wanted to do where as the GT54 would fit on his trolling motor.

Got mine installed on the boat today. Replaced an Echomap 93 plus (not the UHD) version with the new 10" Ultra. Decided to install a bigger Ram ball mount for the 10" screen. Spent about an hour updating software for the chart plotters and the Force trolling motor. The only thing I didn't update was the livescope black box. Currently have 2.54 software, I haven't done much reading on the newer version's to decide if I want to update the blackbox software.

After several back and forth emails and a call to talk to someone in garmin fishing who confirmed the transducer was defective (that I didnt break it), they eventually offered me $10 off a new one.
Called support and told him I can not register GT56 online and he said they did not register transducers. I ask him to try and after providing serial # he came back and said it took it and is now registered. Will keep receipt in case ever neeeded.

That's good that you got it done! I had never heard of registering a transducer either, and I mentioned that to the guy and said the fact that nowhere have I ever had to register a transducer with any company and the app doesn't allow you to register one that way. He said something about there should have been a piece of paper in the box explaining to register it.... who reads that?? I wasn't happy about it, and honestly am still kind of ticked off.. the whole $10 off a new $160 transducer was a kick in the teeth too. But such is life I suppose. I did not take them up on the offer, I wanted to tell them where to shove that coupon but I just politely declined and bought the transducer from hodges marine for $25 less. I printed off 15 copies of the receipt and I just HOPE this thing breaks during the warranty period so I can send that guy 15 copies of my receipt along with the previous emails printed off, I saved the address and reference name he gave me.

Funny when I registered the 106sv w/GT54 using serial # inside 106 box, it registered as having a GT56. I registered 106 on Garmin Express and couple of days later is when I called to register the GT56 purchased from another vendor. lol

FedEx delivered mine today. I installed it today and networked it to 93sv. Worked great in my shop. Now, just waiting on wind and weather to get right so I can go fish. I think the sale ends the 13th. Great price..Now got an extra GT 54 UHD transducer I don’t need. Lol

I also ran across this sale and bought the 106. I recalled a few years ago someone posting here or somewhere else that they exchanged the transducer that came in their package with another one through Garmin for the price difference. They said Garmin told them they could do this as long as the original transducer was still in the packaging and not used. They bought the new one and then shipped the old one back in the same box. I asked Garmin if I could do that with this unit and they said no. Does anyone else remember that Garmin used to do this or am I remembering it wrong and it was a supplier doing it?

Maybe you’re thinking of the Humminbird xducer trade-in program ...
