Default Anyone swap in a 2014 Terrova main control board on a 2014 PowerDrive V2

I love my spotlock but hate that my brother gets to keep fishing while I control my 2014, 24 volt, 70 lb. thrust, 60" shaft, factory equipped iPilot PowerDrive V2. I suck a one-handed fishing. Short of ripping out my PD V2 with spotlock and installing a Terrova system at ~$2.5K, I'm looking to make my current trolling motor more friendly to two-handed fishing.

I've been doing some research and find that a 2014 Terrova main control board (Part Number 2774014, about $200) will fit in the same location as the original main control board on my PD V2. Lots of commonalities between the innards and mounting construction on the Terrova and PD V2; even the battery LED displays are the same, just oriented differently.

I know Minn Kota says that iPilot on a PD V2 eliminates having a corded foot pedal. I want to know if anyone in this group has tried swapping in a Terrova main control board (along with a Terrova foot pedal, Part Number 2774720, about $100) on a PD V2. A major difference is that the Terrova main board has two 7-pin connectors vs one 7-pin connector on the PD V2 main control board. I cannot tell if the 7-pin connectors are the same on the Terrova and PD V2. I would want to use one of the two 7-pin connectors on the Terrova board for the Terrova foot pedal and the other Terrova 7-pin connector for the wireless side of the PD V2. I'm pretty sure that the wires that are parked harmlessly inside the PD V2 housing during the iPilot install will connect directly to the Terrova main control board. I have confirmed that the Terrova foot pedal is fully functional with iPilot.

I am not worried about voiding my warranty since that window closed long ago.

So, is this "just crazy enough to work!" or just crazy?

I'd like to read your thoughts on this,
    Thanks,
    SJ76

You may also need the Terrova head as well. This is where the one of the GPS sensors are located

My current PD V2 has factory installed wireless iPilot, so would it already have the GPS sensor in the head unit?

I am with you now. I have converted a Terrova over to I-Pilot.
