Found this on Craigslist. Guy says he sold his boat and no longer needs it. I wonder why he didn’t just leave it on the boat? Also, that price is suspicious to me. Really low for that particular unit. He is located about 5 hours away from me… I’m wondering if there is a way to test it and make sure the unit works as it should without being hooked up to a boat and on the water. Any advice would be appreciated. What would y’all do?

It is a generation 2 so it’s an older unit for sure. Only thing you could do is if they are willing is to power it up bring a battery with you

I have a helix 7 but I’m still learning to use it. Is there anything specific I should look for to make sure it’s not defective or just make sure it boots up and cycles through the modes. Any sort of diagnostics or anything I can look for?

Not that I know of I’d guess if it powers up plug the ducer in if they’ll let ya and see if it moves through the screens and recognizes the ducer.

TO GOOD TO BE TRUE !

or he don’t realize what he has and don’t need the money or something?
Even though it’s a older unit one that that still brings 5-600 bucks pretty easy unless it’s got lots and lots of hours on it!
