I am wondering if the new helix 7 si g4 sonars are going to be better having 1024h x 600v pixel instead of the older models with 800h x 480v pixel. Will the screen size still be a big minis as being able to make out fish using side and down scan as the older models. Just wondering if this will be a big game changer for people like me as it's a lot cheaper than the bigger units that cost like twice as much and more just for a couple of inches and sometimes just one inch more screen size. I am now running a humminbird 899 si which has been pretty good. I know in sonar bigger is always better but some of us just can't afford the bigger ones. So will the pixels make a big difference?

Ricky as usual is spot on me personally have only ever twice purchased new depth finders my 3 present Helix 12`s SI Gen 3 picked up used for less then 2/3 of new price. If you don`t need the latest and greatest you can pick up a Helix 10 SI Gen 2 for not much more then a new Helix 7. Most of the electronics on my boat I purchased used, from my Ulterra to Mega 360 and my 3 Helix 12`s
