I think you will be fine with either but in your situation I think I might wait for the newest latest and greatest. It will cost more though.
I just got a brand new boat and I am in the process of outfitting it with all the newest equipment (early retirement boat!) and had just purchased a new Garmin Livescope unit 2 days before the LVS 34 transducer was announced. My dilemma is, I can return the previous version to Cabelas (never opened) that I got 2 weeks ago and wait on the 34, or stay with the 32 unit. What are your thoughts? This is my first LS unit and either will be a game changer for me. I have watched all the latest Youtube videos on the 34, but I need some of you experienced LS users to chime in.
Also, has anyone heard of a cover for the new 34 -like Summit makes- to protect my transducer investment?
Thanks for your advice and thoughts folks!

I agree with Super Dave. Might as well start with the newest stuff if you can stand to wait a little.

I'd wait....
2018 G3 Sportsman 17
2018 Yamaha F90 four stroke
Ultra 106sv bow/console
Livescope Terrova 24v Ionic lithium batteries
Looks like the verdict is unanimous, I decided to go with the 34. Ordered it today from The Bass Tank. Late March is expected availability date!
I would have waited also. The 34 is not worth $1200 upgrade cost but for a new purchase I would have certainly paid a little more to get it.

Was the LS10 the first one ? Bought a new boat and that is whats on the black box .
The module is a GLS10.
The current model transducer is a LVS32 and the new one coming out is a LVS34
