    Default Garmin update

I know this may be in the wrong place feel free to move it, there are a lot more people visit here. Cannot find much on this, how many livescope users have updated the latest from garmin. There is a lot of people that say it left their unit in worst condition, picture not as good. There is also a lot of people that really like the update. What i read it may have a lot to do with what unit you have and how you updated. I have talked with garmin and one rep told me not to update at this time they are working on a fix. Talk to another and get something else. This is what i think, those that have updated without problems use a sd card, also what unit you have may effect the outcome. I have a sd card from garmin and my unit is 102 no maps. Would like to heard from those that updated and results what unit and how you updated. Sorry for the long post. thanks Gene

I updated my 1022 thru active captain. Beautiful clean picture but my brush is hazy and I have 2 terrible dead spots. The normal one that’s around the ghost tree and another at 40ft. Dang near impossible to pitch at single crappie. I forced a update using the same 26.10 software but used a sd card this time. And if that doesn’t work I will go back to my older software. Did hear rumors that a fix might be coming about tomorrow for it.

Here is the problem i see, the new lvs34 will work with our gls10 but must be updated with the same update that is creating problems. I have a update sd card from garmin but before i use it garmin needs to give us some clear guidance. I have talked with garmin tecs and they have no answers.

I updated a 106sv through active captain. I was excited about the color limit feature after seeing some vids about it but was kinda disappointed with it after trying it out. I keep it on zero now. The only real change I have noticed was that sometimes the bottom of the ghost tree looks really pixilated like the processor cant seem to keep up. If I had to do it over again I'd skip this update it didn't really make things worse but it didn't improve anything either.

BTW the ghost tree rejection setting never really has made much difference, but I fish allot of hard bottom areas here in SW Mo.

Updated all my units and love the update. Set it up right and everything will pop with way less clutter. Read many complaints about it, but you won't hear them from me.

Love your jigs but couldn't disagree more with the update. On my 8616 and I have gotten very good IMHO with livescope I spent a few days with the new update and rolled my unit back to June software as this was only update for GPS maps that I could get my hands on. In my water at least it was a big downgrade. More weak spots and harder to track fish and jig even with new settings turned off. I have ordered lvs 34 and will probaly have to update, just guessing, when that ships but for now it's not for me and everybody else I know including guides using echomaps as I just helped one roll his unit back. I was thinking about biting the bullet for live scope but now with all the up roar I’m going to hold out !
Other brands must be getting pretty competitive for them to be up grading and offering all the rebates ?

Hearing a lot more problems out of the GSP units rather than echomaps. Another update is available that is supposed to clean up a lot.

I've noticed that the screen on my 93uhd in clear vue and 2d is more pixelated after the update, the 106sv is fine. Anyone else seeing this? I haven't tried the newest update yet, maybe it will fix it.
