Default hummingbird down image or side image

I have been a lowrance user for years, and recently garmin for the panoptics for ice season, last year i put a terrova t/m on the bow, they are basically set up for hummingbird as you probably know, I was going to replace my hds 8 up front with a helix model, but as I am looking it seems you have to choose either DI or SI, Am iI right in thinking you have to choose one or the other when buying these units, my lowrance and garmin have both built in.

so your saying si has di , but if you order di does it come with si, why do they seem to list them differently seems confusing and yes buckeye the tm has the su2 transducer works with my hds8 but not real satisfied with detail way different from same stern model hds8

The SI has di and thats why the units themselves cost more. If you go di it will be cheaper but thats all you will have. I went with the DI option on my terrova, I can view SI from my stern transducer at the bow since I am networked.

I believe TX is correct. I purchased two Helix 10s recently. One is MSI + MDI and the other is MDI only. My plan is to run the MDI @ the bow and the other one at the console. You can give Brian at BBGMarine from the sponsor classifieds a shout or get their number from here BBG Marine Electronics, he is very helpful and knowledgeable.

thank you all , that cleared up a lot. does anyone notice less quality in picture using the us2 on the terrova as to using a hummingbird xducer, like I said i have been a lowrance user for years but would like to try a bird on the terrova but I'm questioning the us2 xducer I don't feel my front imsge is as good as my back unit

I hane two small Lowrance finders and although my new Birds aren’t installed the difference on the demo in store was awesome to me.
