Thread: Only downside to lithium batteries

Ya'll making a mountain out of a molehill. Go fishing. When you get home, if your batteries need to be charged, charge them. They will be warm enough from being used. When they are fully charged, unplug the charger and your ready to go fishing again.

l'm not making a mountain out of anything. The sellers of lithium batteries, Amped- Dakota etc, tell you to not charge your batteries under 32 degrees or you will damage them. I am just relaying the info. If you don't believe them or chose to ignore them, that's up to you.

Rumors have it Walmart is developing a Lithium 100 amp lithium for around 300 plus cost…..with a 1 yr. warranty. Additional warranty can be purchased at 22 bucks per year. Big player like Walmart will drive the prices down I would think.

Apparently you are not understanding what Kevin and I are trying to tell you. I have $3,000.00 invested in lithium batteries. I know they won't charge if they are below freezing. I bought Inoic batteries just for the app. I know what the temp is. I have never seen my batteries below freezing. I fish and hunt in below freezing conditions. When I get home, if they need charging, I charge them. When you use the battery they will warm up.

It was 28 degrees here last night. It is presently 35 degrees now. Here is a screen shot of all 4 of my batteries. Keep in mind this is an unheated garage.



If they're below 32 degrees, warm em up by whatever means you choose. Or just charge them when you come back from fishing while they are above 32 degrees from use.
