I like the remote over the pedal. I can chase down catfish jugs. Some of the bigger fish will get moving when you get the boat near them. Remote in my left hand and grab jug with my right. I hang the remote off my belt loop by a retractable gear holder. While I am shooting docks I can grab it and adjust the boat, drop the remote and go back to fishing. I believe you can adjust the turn speed as well if I am not mistaken. The foot pedal was hard to get used to because it gave no feedback. With cable steer you kind of learned which position the pedal was at in relation to where the motor was pointing. The wired pedal you have to look around at the motor. I have not felt that I needed to move faster than the remote would allow me to move.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
