Thread: wiring lithium batteries

Double check but I don’t think it’s a problem if you install lithium batteries on there sides. Might help you with installation and save some money.

Lithium batterys contain no liquid and can be mounted or installed in any position.

The electrolyte in LiFePo batteries is usually lithium perchlorate dissolved in a solvent, so there is liquid in the battery. What battery do you have?

The electrolite is gelled, no vents, battery is sealed.

What I have is an EcoWorthy 12v 10ah which will run my electronics about 4 hours. I need at least twice that.

I have room for 2 more just like that one if they can be wired in parallel, if not I could use a 30ah battery if I can lay it on its side.

The cost would be about the same.

I don't have room for a 50ah.

Depending on the make of your lithium battery, and it’s BMS of that battery, you can wire a 100 amp parallel to a 50 amp and a 30 amp and use all 3 parallel as the BMS will deliver the amp usage equally from the 3 batteries not draining the 30 amp any quicker than the 100 amp or 50 also. I checked this out with the Ionics lithium battery technicians and even tried it experimenting. Lithiums with a 12 volt trolling motor can be used that way. I have 2-100 amp, 1 50 amp, 1 30 amp, and a 20 amp also as use them for various setups as well have wired them in different setups on my boat as well as hunting usages.
