    Question Perspective Mode

Why use anything but perspective mode?

Because successful crappie fishing often involves vertical single pole jigging. Perspective view does not give you accuracy when the fish are 20 ft deep. Professional guides I know who fish for crappie rarely if ever use Perspective view.

On the lakes i fish the ability to see the exact depth of the fish is more important than seeing a wider horizontal view.

I think it all depends on the depth of water you’re fishing. One of the lakes I fish a lot has an average depth of 5 feet. Forward view works, but it’s not ideal (at least for me) for searching. Perspective works great for that lake. Another lake I fish a lot is super deep, and we routinely fish brush piles that average 30’ deep catching suspended crappie or crappie on the brush. Perspective is not the best for that situation but forward works great.
