    Default Hummingbird update question


    Is it necessary to update the basemaps if I’m using a map card, I’m thinking of installing the newest software update and its prompting me to update new basemap also, what exactly does the new software update do, my down imaging images has gotten “fuzzy” lately, my units are mega+ gen 3

    Using a map card makes the base maps irrelevant ...

    You should be able to update the unit software without updating the base maps ... just don’t put the base map update on the same SD Card as the unit .bin update file ...

    Fuzzy images can sometimes be attributed to “stuff” in the water column - algae, plankton bloom ...

    I installed new software to 2.280 and lost all sonar/di/and Si capabilities, what could be the problem,
