Waypoints are marked at the GPS antenna position ...

Hi! I am looking for some guidance.
I have a Lowe SF212 walk-thru 22ish foot pontoon. Transducer back left. Xi5 up front(2D transducer that I use when deployed). Lowrance HDS carbon at the console. I just purchased a point 1. Tired of the graph spinning while sitting still.
Where should I mount it, and why? Should I use it for GPS or only heading? If I mount it in the back by the transducer and us it for GPS, I will be 22 foot from my waypoints, correct? I fish off the front of the boat.
In my mind I need the GPS as close to where I fish as possible. What am I missing?
Thanks for the help.

Rickie, thanks for the reply.
So let’s say I’m cruising along, mark a spot 100 foot to the left using sidescan. I circle around, deploy the trolling motor, anchor over the waypoint. The spot I marked is now under the GPS antenna. If my puck is at the back of pontoon, and I’m fishing out of the front, I’m 22 foot away, correct?
I use use the back transducer to find structure, but fish out of the front of the boat, using the transducer on the trolling motor while deployed.

A better scenario would be to have a GPS antenna at the rear xducer for marking waypoints while using the console unit ... (the rear GPS antenna would not have to be a Point 1 because idling with the big motor is moving the boat fast enough for stable GPS function) ...
And then have a Point 1 at the front for returning to waypoints (and keep Chart from spinning at slower speed) ...
