I have two GPS antenna on the front. One is for the Ulterra, other sits on top of a Ricky made transducer mount. I couldn't find a direct answer if I needed both. I also have all my units networking.

Preparing to install my new Minn Kota Ulterra 80/MSI/IP Trolling Motor w/i-Pilot Link & Bluetooth
I currently have the Humminbird Heading Sensor installed that came with my Terrova.
I am also planning to install a AS GPS HS hooked to my Helix G2N. Since the AS GPS HS is a heading sensor and it and the TM will be linked to the Helix, do I still need the old Heading Sensor?
Thanks

Thanks for the info.
My TM didn't come with a Heading Sensor, and since non-ferrous locations are precious in my boat, if I don't need it I will put the AS GPS HS there instead.

The Minn Kota Bluetooth heading sensor is used by the Minn Kota for the jog function during Spotlock ...

The Minn Kota Bluetooth heading sensor that comes with a Minn Kota can be shared to a Ethernet networked HB unit - but only when the trolling motor is deployed and powered on ...
So if one might see a scenario that needs heading without the trolling motor deployed and powered on - install the AS GPS HS antenna ...

I just went thru this same dilemma with same trolling motor. I had the HB puck only. It will still spot lock and work but not have jog function as Rickie mentioned. Also doesnt seem quite as accurate on circling and holding position.
I installed the minnkota puck right in front of the hb puck maybe 3 gap. Now have all functions and seems to have tighter tolerance as far as holding on spots.
Jog function is a great tool to help hold you on bait and fish! Hit the button and move 5ft in whatever direction then holds you on spot.

Thanks for your input on the puck mounting. When I took it out for a shakedown run this past weekend, it did not function as well as my 1 year old Terrova did.
I contacted Minn Kota Monday and they are sending me the Heading Sensor. Thanksgiving was a great time span to do the install, but bad (for me, good for them) in that all customer service was off until Monday.
Their literature says the HS primary function is the jog feature, but I think it also contributes other input and functions to the TM.
