I just started looking into Vessel View and seems like some great info for the price and something I am thinking about getting. Will have to look into the NEMA 2000, no idea on it.
I'm researching a new boat and one of the options is Mercury Vessel View, or NEMA 2000?
total NOB when it comes to either one. Can someone explain the advantages, disadvantages of each?
Thanks in Advance!

I can’t necessarily explain between the two but I have the vessel view Mobil. This was the best option for me as I have single unit on the console and didn’t want it to take up screen space.
It does everything as advertised, giving me piece of mind and better ability to monitor maintenance related issues.
Also has a few gadgets like photo book, hole shots, etc.

NEMA 2000 is used to connect multiple devices and make them all speak the same language, per say. Except sonar data (share waypoints, routes, etc.). It will connect engine data, sonar, gps, weather sensors, UHF radios, radar, etc. All could be displayed on your sonar unit, plus the engine uses the GPS info for speed, miles, etc. Appears to be geared toward larger watercraft- Ocean going type vessels?
Vessel View just shows the engines performance on sonar. Appears there is more information available with Vessel View Link to smart phone. But I don't know that for a fact. Also appears Vessel View allows you to adjust engine rpms, and set cruise control. Not sure if that can be done with the sonar units.
Appears to be more specific to engine performance and engine control only. But how does it the smart phone app differ from the sonar?
Still too many unknowns.

There is vessel view link and vessel view mobile
Vessel view mobile allowed you to see some of your motor infos w/o the ability to control anything.
Vessel View Link gives you the ability to view all the infos from the motor (more then you ever need) and the ability to control also. You can use troll control, tow control et ... all this from your lowrance or simrad unit and your Mercury motor. Vessel View is a box that link the mercury and the Navico unit all on a NK2000 network.
