    Default Garmin transducer question

Bought a 73sv on here to use for side imaging at the back of my boat for scanning. Took it out for the first time today and really couldn't get good readings at all. I did mount it a little higher than what is in this picture but I also noticed in the settings there are lots of different model ducers to choose and I am not a 100% it's on the right one. It was set at CV40 but I see no markings on this to indicate what it is. Just want to make sure I have the right one selected. Anyone on here know how to tell what ducers it is?Name: 20200224_121730.jpg

I would think there should be a tag on the cable close to the connector end ...

Thanks Rickie....there was a tag, I missed that. It is a CV40. Definitely need to adjust this some I guess because it didn't have very good visual at all.

According to Garmin the CV40 is only ideal for shallower water. Not sure of the depth your trying to side scan, but it's worth checking the specs/ capabilities of the transducer before you go out again.

I was fishing Reelfoot and was in 8 foot or less water.
