    Question Transducer mounting

Bought a Garmin Striker 4. Was planning/wanting to glue the transducer in the hull. The instructions did not list that as an option.
    Is it an option?
Or will I need to mount it on the transom ?

Glue a good sized piece of plastic cutting board to the hull, and screw the transducer to that. Adhesive depends on boat material.

If the boat has a raised floor I believe you have to epoxy the transducer directly to the fiberglass skin of the boat. That usually means mounting in the bilge area or cutting an access hole in the floor.

You an test the performance of shoot thru application by holding the xducer in place with a bag of sand (or similar) and adding water to the bilge above the xducer ...

Rickie, will this simulate the transducer being epoxied in?

Yes, also it will allow you to move it around to find best location for best readings.
