Default Ordered Garmin 93sv+, gt 52 transducer, worried

    Ok
As title says, i ordered the garmin 93sv plus. Comes with gt52 transducer.
Im now worried i made a mistake and can still cancel.
How good or bad is the side imaging? And down scanning?
I have Lowrance hds9, with SS2 and need better side imaging.
Paid $600 but if its poor quality results i don't want it.
YouTube videos convinced me it was good.

    Thanks for your 6

Depends on your definition of better or poor.

I would grade its as usable or satifactory, but not great.

HB would be my 1st choice for SideImaging.

Have no idea what you current Lowrance setup provides.

Here is a link to some HB images from ROY

    This is from a 93+ and a GT52
Line to right of zero is from shooting the SI under and across a pontoon boat and and picked up the tube
Transducer was stick mounted and moved it to friends boat. for some testing.

I bought the Garmin and 2 weeks later got rid of it for a Helix 10.

Helix 10 for SI, DI and mapping. Garmin for LiveScope. My 2 cents and opinion based on using both as well as many others prior. I tend to larger screens as I age (not always gracefully—smile).

This is from a recently purchased HB Helix10 G2N Mega.

The reason I am including this picture is because this one and the Garmin picture above are from units running stock settings.

I normally run a series of test shots of units in their factory stock settings so I have something to refer to later if there are problems with a unit at a later date.

These two pics will give you a fair idea of the stock images at factory settings from each brand

Brett, my friend Tom has a HB and the side and down image is much better than I could get on my HDS 7 and it's 1 transducer and it's not a foot long like the LSS2. I sold the Lss2 and gave up on SI.

However if the Garmin can be used for Livescope I'd sure be tempted to try that.
