    Default Wiring question.

Bought a Tracker new back in 17 with a 12v MK Edge. Looking to upgrade to a 24v Terrova. Will the 8 gauge wire it has now handle the upgrade? Any help would be appreciated.

#8 gauge might be alright; I use #8 with my Tv24, but my batts are up front and the run is very short. I bet hardly any of us run the TM wide-open. Usually, I'm on 3-3.5 for trolling, and bump it up to 6 or 7 if I am using SI prowling for fish. Give it a try before you pull something bigger.

Make sure you get a 4gauge cross/jumper wire for battery to battery to get the 24v, I got mine from a battery supply store, my factory wire was 6 or 8 small anyway, the 80# terrova tripped the breaker every time if it went close to full power, thanks to Mr Cray and others here the problem is solved

Thanks for the feed back. Hadn't thought about the heavy gauge for the cross jumper. I've got a starting point now.

That's some good info right there. I plan on replacing my trolling motor after the 1st and I'll keep that in mind.

8 gauge will work just fine. I use to use 10 and never had a problem
