I started with a standard 10” and it was fine but I had a chance to upgrade and boy was I glad I did. My 8610xsv has a glass face, a gazillion pixels and the resolution is almost 3d. It really makes a difference! Yes, it is a bit more but I can assure you well worth it. The touch screen is very sensitive so there is seldom a double tap required. It is also able to add transducers giving you every option you would ever need. It could replace my Helix 10 in a minute but I have it mounted below my Helix 10 as I use the Bird for navigation to waypoints, confirmation of brush, etc. but once there the LiveScope takes over as I watch the fish react to my lure.

I really love my Echomap Ultra 122. Has a great screen (same as the 8600 series), touch with 3 favorite buttons, and at a good price.
Love using for Livescope!!!

I'm thinking about an Echomap Ultra myself. I'll move the Em+93sv to the kayak.

I have the 74SV, 7"and I think most are touchscreen like mine.
The best unit would be to consider the distance you will be from the unit to see clearly. the bigger the better for a boat. Mine is small for my kayak and I am close enough to see everything clearly. The big units can be seen further back. Also the higher end units have the capability to record images/pics directly from the unit without have to use your camera to take blurry images/vids.
Go with what you feel best with and test in bright daylight to make sure your happy.
OK GURUS......... if lakehouse sells im getting a boat one im looking at has a 7616 xsv will this bed a good match to the livescope?
