This is the view I keep my Helix 9 SI Mega set on when scanning. I like to see not only the side image but what's below the boat. This is a stock photo from google, I do not use the Fish ID. Sorry can't help with zoom.

HB combo views in all core units allow adjusting the width of combo view panes under the Xpress Menu labeled "Split Position" ... which basically moves the divider in the combo view ...
The "Sonar Zoom" view combo does not have this "Split Position" selection under the Sonar Zoom view Xpress Menu ...
The "Zoom Width" Menu under the Sonar tab allows moving the screen divider in only the "Sonar Zoom" combo view to "Narrow Medium or Wide" ...
The "Zoom Width" Menu has nothing to do with the Sonar beam's shape, size or coverage area ...

Eagle, when searching new areas I like to run a split SI/Chart screen at about 70/30. I keep the SI screen as my active screen and as I see fish or features, I mark them as waypoints. I'm only looking 35 feet left or right in order to see more detailed images. This works well for me because at the same time, I'm using my autochart to record the bottom contours and I'm looking for ledges. I like to the run autochart contours on 1' increments.
One thing for sure, if I'm fishing and not seeing or finding fish this way, I'm not getting bites either.
