You can share waypoints across the network and perhaps more depending on which model Helix's. If your Ulterra is a Link model and want to network with the other two units, you would need an ethernet switch.
Im considering putting a unit up front on my boat. I currently have a Helix 9 G1N and an newer Ulterra, with network cable between them.
I'm thinking of purchasing a better unit for the helm, and move my current Helix 9 up from to use the Ulterra's built in transducer. (I do already have the adapter cable I bought erroneously when I got the trolling motor- to hook a hummingbird directly to it)
If I bought a new Helix 10/12 mega, what issues might I run into? Would these units be networkable together? I.e, could my 9 show waypoints I made on the newer helix?
Are there better options I should be considering?
Thanks in advance!

You won’t have a problem networking, just be sure when you run several units and you have their depthfinders installed that you set them on different frequency settings so as to not get crosstaliking or interference. Networking is a hoot!

Any thoughts on the Universal sonar 2 transducer in the Ulterra?
Sounds like it is fairly limited in ability.

So if I dont want to hassle with rigging a separate transducer on the ulterra, I would be better off with a G1 Helix 7 or similar I guess.
Maybe I will find a cheap 2D/gps unit and try it out.
If you're looking at Helix 7 models, it must be a G2N or G3N model in order to network with another accessory or unit. The "N" indicates networking capabilities. The US2 Adapter cable for Helix models is MKR-US2-8. To network all three devices, you would need additional hardware including ethernet cables, ethernet cable adapters, and ethernet switch.
