Default New HD transducer on my Helix, some pics

Just installed a new HD SI transducer on my Helix unit, took it out for a spin on a local 190acre reservoir. Was hoping I might get a few bonus crappies to start the year but no luck with the fish.

I was happy with the ducer install, I didnt notice anything weird. It does seem sharper to me for sure. Hopefully my DI is actually useable now, I could not see anything in DI with the compact ducer.

Just posting for feedback, if you see fish, please, point them out to me!

This next 4 pics, I believe I see fish in. This was the best looking spot I found on my cruise around the reservoir. I put a little effort into fishing this area with 1/32 and 1/16 hair jigs but no bites.

I pushed through some ice to get to another spot I knew there was some downed tress/brush at. I think I can see small fish holding around the limbs?

In that depth pull your scan into a bout 35 ft instead of 70. Get a much better picture. Put courser over that tree top hit creating a box around it. Then you can expand it a little for a better look. You can also turn on you contrast and sharpness box and ply with it to get best setting for right then.

good tips, I'll try the shorter range out for more detail. I knew I could zoom in, but honestly with the old ducer it was usually too grainy to be much help.

Look for the fish shadows too.

Seems tricky if/when the fish are right on bottom, but I think I see shadows separate from some of the images above. I will try dropping range, and zooming to try to explain what Im seeing the next time I get out.

I was atleast able to snag a few jigs on the structure I was seeing lol.

What about taking out them big numbers so that you have a wider screen.

I have found even on my HD if you zoom to much it’s still gets grainy. But you can zoom some then play with your contrast and sharpness until you get it where you like it. Then those settings will be good until you change again. You will find those settings can change from one part of the lake to another and deeper or shallower water.

Ah good eye Terry, I hadn’t noticed the beds

I’m actually not sure (aside from helix 9 si-gps of course) It doesn’t have chirp. I purchased in spring 2017.
