I'm really not familiar with either unit. I would suggest going to a big box store to see the different units in person if possible, or contact someone who may already have the units you are interested in and see if they'll take you on the water for a demonstration. All units today have their plus and minuses, kind of like car shopping, everyone likes different models for different reasons. Good luck with your search.

Both of those are on sale at Cabela’s/ Bass Pro. I bought the Garmin yesterday and used it today. Lifelong Lowrance user but just had to try the Garmin for my small boat. The Garmin has lakeview HD maps built in and are pretty good. It will also draw contour lines on base maps. It will accept the Uber expensive Panoptix. Imagining is not as good as a Lowrance but good enough. Very intuitive touch screen that works well. Waypoint management very good also. If you can go look at them and push buttons.

Check with our sponsors. They can usually beat the big box store prices and can answer your questions about them.
