Greenwing, thanks for posting that link. By far the best video I've seen on the Livescope. Looks really great on this video catching perch, I'm impressed!!!

    YouTube

The forward view to me does not impress me but that video of the realtime down view with the perch is a totally different ballgame.

I still think as far as telling what structure is what the mega imaging Birds with SI and DI give the best picture of structures or what is laying on the bottom.

But the "video game fishing with the Garmin down view although is awesome where does the line get drawn to keep fishing more of a challenge and even more of that question when you are talking about where should the limits be on pro fishing tournaments to make it not the best electronics but the best at fishing and figuring out current patterns of the man holding the rod that makes the difference?

Also that unit in the video which is a 12" screen display list for 3699.00 dollars and just a quick glance about 2749.00 on line street pricing so can you actually compare that to a 12" Helix mega which the brand new unit yet to be released is showing a list price of 3099.00 and is still priced 600.00 less for a brand new model just now being released model and the current model mega 12" is available for a street price right now of less than 1700.00?

Down view looks good but sure is high.

How's it going. I picked up a new helix 12 for my boat before I retired. I found a G3 fiberglass and love it.

    Jim,
Hope your doing well. You need to post some images from your units and some of the fish I'm sure your catching. Hope your enjoying your retirement as much as I'm enjoying mine. Merry Christmas!

My buddy is going with a 10 inch unit for the Livescope, he should have a pretty good set up Solix 15 and a Onix 10 on the console, Onix 10 with Garmin Livescope on the bow.

It would of been interesting if he would of had DI up and I wonder what Livescope looks like in rough water where the boat is bouncing around. I am so used to using 2D to jig with that is a toss up but the weeds now that was outstanding as the weeds were not very thick.

I have seen Roy in action along with his budy GeneC. The two of them have three pound crappiest each. As far as the birds are concerned I had the others, they were ok till HB came out with SI. They left them at the dock. I have a 899 on my console a Helix 9 G2N on the bow. Both operate flawlessly. Looking forward to a Helix 12 G3N this spring. I will be replacing my 899 on the console. But I think that the real key to all of this is do you re as lily know how to use your units to the fullest. I know that I am still learning. T_OM this is a place for friendly conversation, swapping of information, Roy is as great guy (except his Packers hat)(Go Bears). He has as wealth of information to pass on to all of us. I know first hand as GeneC taught myself and my step son a few things.

Been fishing on the days the wind cooperates. This lake has a lot of underwater trees and I am starting to learn where the trees are. The fish here now staging in our creek mouths with timber. Longlining is the ticket down here. Roy this lake reminds me of Keer. The fish here are really nice. Last thursday I brought home 12 that were 12 to 14 inches long. Man do they fight hard. Hope you have a great retirement and keep in touch.

Tahoe 50 thanks for the kind words. Allot of nice people on this board for sure and I've learned allot from them, Gene and Jimb just to name a couple. Jim show us some screenshots of the trees your fishing as well as the fish, good to hear your doing well.

Oh and Tahoe 50 your a nice guy as well except for liking Da Bears, lol.
My Packers are stinking the place up pretty bad this year, time to regroup.

Me and Gene made it out today, only caught 10 but one of Gene's was another 2 pounder! My HB showed us right where the fish was holding, Gene dropped a jig on her head an bam!,

    Merry Christmas to all!!!!
