Nothing worse than turning on your sonar units an 10 years worth of waypoints are gone , I lucked out and had had backed the unit up a while back and was able to reload most of them back on the unit.. went back today and ended up catching a mess

All ways a good idea to save a backup copy of way points on SD cards as these sonar units are much like computers.
Be safe and good luck fishing
Boy having them backed up was a good deal....nice fish!
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Great idea on backing em up ! Congrats on some good catching!
Thanks for a good post that shows an example of the importance of backing up data.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
Thanks for posting this subject. I just put a card in my Helix, now I need to figure out how to put my way points on the card. I'd cry if I lost my waypoints.

This post almost saved my tail this afternoon. When we got to the water I powered on my console unit and had no depth readings. All that showed up were the maps. I was about to do a default restore, then I realized I'd lose all my weighpoints (or at least I think I would) so I popped open crappie.com, read your post, and got ready to export all my info, then I remembered that my 16 year old son put the depth finder on today and I felt the back and the plug wasn't pushed in correctly. Once I got it snapped in on both sides, the depth part started working. I still exported my weighpoints to the SD card just so I'd have a back up. Thanks again Rickie!
