i think the head unit sends the info to the i pilot link and it goes to the way point and stops or spotlocks at the waypoint using the gps in i pilot head on trolling motor. or as least thats the way i read it as.
When i pilot is going to a marked waypoint, is it using the location of the trolling motor or the transducer/unit of the humminbird? For example, if i tell the ipilot to navigate to a way point and my humminbird is ran through a transom mounted transducer, will it over shoot the waypoint to make the back of the boat reach the waypoint or stop when the trolling motor/ipilot arrives at the way point? I am wanting to know whether or not if I have one humminbird and it is mounted to the transom that I will be able to spider rig out of the front accurately.

When you select GOTO Waypoint, it will use the coordinates created from the hummingbird unit which are routed to the Link. The TM will use the TM GPS receiver and position it at those coordinates so boat position may not be same as when the original waypoint was created. It can also be affected by whether you were using an external GPS receiver with the console unit positioned near the transducer location. Without a bow unit and AS GPS HS receiver, it could be difficult to position the boat accurately if fishing a brush pile or specific point.
