I need every advantage I can get so my Helix 10 Mega Chirp SI/DI Gen2 allows me to maximize my view of brush, fish, thermoclines, location on the lake, speed, waypoints, etc. Learning curve was shortened by experts like Rickie and others. I have always been on the bleeding edge of technology so it fits me well.

Can you set the helix 7 Di to switchfire mode and have it work with US2 without damage? Or do you need to go with a dedicated 2D unit?

if you're going to use the US2 on your trolling motor, why spend more for DI Chirp SI or anything else? 2D is the only part of those units that work with the US2 on the troller.

CHIRP and DI or Si have nothing in common. Back to the original question. Will my US2 on my TM support ChIRP.. That is if a man had the money.

CHIRP sweep frequency can be transmitted thru any piezo attached at the end of the wire channel ...

Now whether that piezo will vibrate efficiently pushed at that sweep frequency transmit signal is up for debate ...

Some piezoes are specifically designed for CHIRP sweep frequency transmits (think expensive and think Airmar) ... these piezoes pushed with a CHIRP sweep frequency transmit signal create a "true CHIRP system" ...

Transmitting CHIRP thru a stock (any brand) piezo basically means the brand tested their stock piezo with a CHIRP transmit - and it vibrated efficiently enough to sell you a CHIRP unit - without having to include in the box a true CHIRP (expensive) xducer ...

Yes you can push CHIRP thru the US2 ...
