    Default helix vs solix

Looking at a new finder im down to either a helix 12 mega si or a solix 12 mega si . Any pros or cons I know the solix is more customizable just wondered if worth the price difference? This will be the unit on my dash I am not linking it to another unit or trolling motor so these are not issues.

The Solix platform is just more advanced and has more options for customization. You can create any view you want. Some of the cross touch features are pretty cool- if you're in a multi-screen, say for example running Side Image and Down Image at the same time, holding two fingers on Side Image will change your screen to Side Image only; once you're in Side Image, holding two fingers on the screen will take you back to the previous multi-screen with SI and DI. Swiping two fingers across the screen pops up your views; you can quickly scroll through and pick a view. If you do decide to network to another Solix down the road, the platform is powerful enough to share map cards, ie one map card can be used and share over the network by multiple Solix units; Helix units must have a map card for each unit. I'm certain there are some more features, but these are the ones I'm familiar with.

If you are not going to network it with another unit then I would just stick with the Helix IMO the helix will do all most as much as the solix except for the sharing capabilities of your map cards. Yes the solix has a few features over the helix but I don't think there is anything that will help you put more fish in the boat over the helix.

They take a bit LESS current that a Solix to run, and that's a BIG battery concern for multiple units too.

    I like my Helix machines!
