    Default PROJECT COMPLETED

    HOWDY
I have finally rigged up my electronics and ready to test then after I shake this flu. I had a Raymarine Dragonfly 7 pro on my transom before. I chose this because of the simple menu and good graphics. With my new found passion of spider rigging, I was getting a stiff neck looking behind me to check my sonar and contour lines of Navionics chart. I always do my home work, I searched many a fish finder looking at features and menus. I studied youtube forums(both crappie and bass), facebook, and ebay reading reviews and comments and asked questions. I made list of pro and cons of all that caught my eye. Always herd to go as big as you can afford with screen size. The advancement of fishing electronics is truly amazing.
So after measuring many times I cut once. I chose the Raymarine Axiom 9. Yea, the wife almost had a cow when I told her how much. I reminded her of what she said (not always a good move) but worked out ok this time. Get something good quality the first time so you wont have to get rid of it to buy what you really wanted to buy the first time. I mounted my heavy duty ram mount on console and have two screws in ducer mount. The graphics seem nice and the quad 4 processor is fast, with sonar down vision, side vision, and 3D scan It should have what I need. There are also some updates for the software in future as this is a newer model that will be working the kinks out of. I mounted my Dragonfly 7 upfront and ran its own power supply wire, as i did for the Axiom. I drilled a hole in the fin and mounted the ducer there saving about $125, for the bracket. I hope to test it soon

Saw someone else on here who did fin trick also. I was concerned with interference. But he said it was not a problem for him

Hope you get over the flu soon. Maybe everything will work fine. I will be looking forward to seeing your sonar and fish pictures in the near future.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Congratulations! My wife isn't thrilled with me either. I tried similar excuse / reasoning. I don't advise it!

    Interesting.
    Thanks for the picture!
I'm scared enough with mine mounted tight to the trolling motor, I'd have that ripped off the first trip.

I guess I am lucky, my wife has never complained about anything I have bought-hunting or fishing. Unless it is big item she doesn't even ask what it cost.
Thanks chippo thanked you for this post
