Narrower 2D cone on 455 kHz Gene, better resolution/separation at the cost of not as much bottom coverage.

I love that fishing it tight quarters with other fisherman close, especially on steep drops it shines.

    83 is 60 degrees and 455 is 16 degrees.

    @ Armyman:
Looking forward to see what you find, and PLEASE update to the latest software version - because of the many added features and fixes!

I would be very interested to see if the XI 9 1521 Iceducer has also been added to the transducer selection menu as well!

sfw1960, I will post my findings on the Helix 7. Do you think there would be new software versions on a new unit?

    Absolutely.

They released v1.610 for the larger Helix units around the 2nd & 3rd weeks of JAN. for the Helix 9-10-12 and ONIX/SOLIX platforms.
Plus I was told by a very sharp CSR they were adding the low Q Chirp ice XDCR to the Helix 7's and I have to think that IF it's not been added yet, it would be quite shortly as she's an awful sharp person.

I specifically asked this question so if I got a H7DIG2N I could use it year 'round - otherwise I would have to get a plain Sonar GPS G2N and network the imaging from the other machines on the boat.

It's my guess (Note - guess) that Jason Halfen may have had some input in the design of the HB DI units beings as he is such a noted walleye fisherman ...

The narrower 2d cones of the DI xducers would be a distinct advantage for bottom hugging fish ...

    Rickie,
The answer to your question is yes it is listed. Here is a picture I took today from my 7 DI unit I bought about a month ago

I haven't used the di transducer yet that came with this unit. Can I trade it in for the new one just released? Really would like to see how it separates fish better from the bottom. So far I'm only using my 7 di for mapping but have it linked to my Helix 10 mega.

It's my understanding you will NOT be able to use that with the Mega DI XDCR because it has more wiring (circuits) than a standard DI XDCR.

I was hoping to see if there was the option for the XI 9 1521 Iceducer listed as well.

If you can pipe the DI from your Helix 10 Mega, it's all good unless you want the best DI possible @ the trolling motor...

    Thanks Roy ...

Your only optional DI xducers for HELIX 7 DI are ...:

    *XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T (83/200kHz 2d and 455/800kHz DI) ...

    *XTM 9 DI 25 T (200/455kHz 2d and 455/800kHz DI) ...

    Both are TM pucks ...
