Default Connecting Helix 10 to Ulterra

As I flounder (actually crappie) to learning more about my gear I want to use the Helix 10 with my Ulterra in a connected manner. As I looked at the screen showing what is connected I found the Minn Kota is listed as “off.” How do I toggle this to “on” so I can use functions like “contour following” with my two pieces of gear? I realize this is probably a “duh” question but I always seem to get super insight with you guys responses.

Do you have the cable from the Ulterra connected to the Hellix? The menu for connected should show connected or unconnected not on or off. You need to open the ipilot setting menu and turn on the ipilot navigation menu for the link to happen.

First off, do you have the Ilink, if not there is no connection.

You are right, of course, and the menu says unconnected. I do have the cable connected from the Helix 10 to the Ulterra. I will search more and thanks a bunch.

Is the link software or an existing menu that is not toggled on? I really appreciate you taking the time.

The Ilink is part of the Ulterra, either you have an Ulterra Ipilot or an Ulterra Ilink.
If you have the Link then it has a connection cord coming from the trolling motor which you have to buy a dongle to attach it to the Helix. Once that's done you may have to go into the menu on the Helix and look under Network and turn on the Link. I do not remember having to do this with the trolling motor but had to with the 360.

I will check. I did have the cable already from the Ulterra that I connected to the Helix. Did not know about your following instructions so will follow up. Cannot thank you enough.

Well, guess I am dumb as dirt. Followed instructions and in menu shows iPilot unconnected. Could not find a network menu or i-Pilot setting toggle.

Oh, and yes the Ulterra was on, deployed and operational. Not a dumb question and I was lucky to think of it.
