I have a Lowrance Point 1 with heading sensor & course so I can tell which way I am drifting.

Genec is a cable steering fisherman so he now has a MK Ultrex and loves it. I do not have room up front for the Ultrex as I have a dropped deck.

Shellback has a Lund tiller steer and works his Xi5 with a Lowrance Elite Ti from the back and likes it.

I ,also had the Xi5 trolling motor.spotlock worked good,as long as the wind would blow.in the summer months ,when the wind was light and would stop and maybe change dirrections.the Xi5 would start spinning, from left to right very fast.the foot pedal, that comes with the Xi5 is very hard to navigate with.acually I hated the foot pedal.I've got a rhodan trolling motor now.spot lock works with wind or without. There's no foot pedal tho and the rhodan is a little pricey, but it does what I want.

Kos, glad you are still liking your Rhodan. I have watched your videos. Thought about getting one myself

Not sure why, but any time I have had my Xi5 start thinking on it's own, I change out the remote batteries. It's always cured it. As I said, no idea why, but it works for me.

your doing the right thing , asking questions.some of these responses you get, well you need take with a grain of salt.before i bought the xi5,i asked questions to.my favorite response was (the wind is its friend and great spot lock). And that is all true but,the wind doesn't always blow and that foot pedal, well its got spring tension.hard to navigate with it. it will go from right to left really quick.Theirs no in between .

Rhodan looks pretty good to me. I don't have a lot of room in my Tracker Panfish for a cable steer foot pedal. I've been looking into trying to install a recessed tray but I don't know if there's enough depth available.

I have a XI5 which I love, but as Kosmos mentioned the wireless foot control has springs which are touchy and make it hard to make slight steering adjustments, 90% of the time I use my key fob. I am not sure how it would compare to Minn Kotas version of the tm
