You should have gotten a Quick Start Guide with the Lakemaster Card. Refer to it....if not make sure the chip is seated firmly in the slot. On the water with GPS select Normal mode. Off the water select Simulator mode. Select the View key until Chart View is displayed on the screen. Go to the Main Menu > Chart Menu Tab > Lake List and select your lake. Then press the Zoom key.
Hope this helps. I have Helix 7 GPS....something may be different on the Helix 9. If it is stand by, I'm sure somebody will chime in.

If the GPS isn't locking on to the satellites, you won't get the chart screens on the unit in normal mode. You can start the unit up in forced simulator mode and view the mapping without a GPS signal.
