Default Re setting Minn Kota Terrova?

I need a little help if someone can walk me through this.....

I recently bought a new to me boat without a trolling motor, it is a 2010 Alumacraft Dominator, I sold my old boat (Tracker Magna fish 17) and kept the trolling motor to put on the Alumacraft. Everything worked on the old boat, however when I mounted it up to the new boat I get nothing.
It is plugged into the socket and when I push the battery test button it shows fully charged, so I believe I am properly plugged in.

The manual says I should push the "learn" button when trolling motor is in the correct position and there will be a series of beeps......this is where I'm lost. It does not beep at all, I have tried about a dozen times and nothing.

So, I'm wondering if anyone can guide me what to do next?

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

What TM do you have and does it have a remote? I would think if it work before it should work now. Maybe it is the connector plug-in because that is the only difference from one boat to the other right! Are you fully deploying it to check it?

I got one too! Only time mine acted up was due to the remote not connecting with TM. You take the battery out of remote yet to break circuit and reboot remote? Never had to much problem out of mine. We transferred the one I had on the pontoon to another pontoon and my BIL changed his connecting wires to his plug-in connector on his pontoon to match the connecting plug from TM. Could that be your problem? Unless your changing remotes do you need to reset? I got more questions than you. LOL Steve, I know I'm not any help. I hope you get a TM guru to answer your question. I'll try to keep up with this to learn something myself.

I see no need to push learn unless you are changing remotes. If you have a foot control that should work. I agree with BigDawgg, only thing that should of changed is voltage on the new boat.

Is the new boat set up for a 24v TM ?????? Your old boat was 12v correct ???
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Foot pedal work? Try it if you haven't already. This will tell us something.

The foot pedal does not work.

A member here at c.c called me suggesting I check wiring, possibly something got switched at the dealers when they removed the original TM. I must confess, I am not very savvy when it comes to electronics but I did check as best as I could recollect his directives. My son is a Master Electrician, next time he stops in I'll ask him to check it out.

It has to be something simple......

I would call Minn Kota's customer service. They would probably know exactly what to do. Most of the time they will help a person even if the motor is not under warranty as they like to have you and other's as return trolling motor customers later. Just get ready for a long phone wait which is a problem with most customer services.
Be safe and good luck fishing
