Default Helix 7 SI transducer question

New to the Helix unit, just got a new boat equipped with a Helix 5 on the trolling motor up front and a Helix 7 with Si at the console. Everything is working GREAT, except ONE thing.

As soon as I go over 7 mph the depth readout on the Helix 7 goes haywire and reads 1' or 798' or 998'.

I assume I am getting dirty water(cavitation) on the transducer.

So I have been reading and watching youtube videos and thinking and as I said, I am a Helix newbie, so my question is:

Can I hook up two transducers to the Helix 7 using the splitter cable and a switch I saw on one of the videos?

I think they make a high speed transducer? Correct?

Is there a second port on the back of the unit to run two transducers simultaneously?

Going to try micro adjusting the SI transducer and see if I can get an accurate reading.

Are my expectations too high?, I would like depth readouts at top speed( 45mph)

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I top at 48 and I never lose depth reading. Transducer must be mounted wrong

This cable is used to split transducers (AS SIDB Y) item # 720055-1

Y Cable - Splits Side Imaging® and Down Beam. Allows another transducer to be used for down beams.

Had the same issue with my Helix 7. Just my 2 cents worth on the subject after looking and trial and error. I run my Helix 7 on SI 90% of the time. My buddy always said this thing is acting crazy. I thought the same thing but after $799 I wasn't about to tell him that. OK long story short. When I went to split screen like DI & SI it was spot on the depth. I never thought but when i'm running my SI I'm not getting a accurate reading because i'm Side to Side. Soon as I switch it would clear up and read right. Remember the SI and DI has a chart speed also. Its not accurate unless you are running with your chart speed. The depth should be but not what your searching for. Hope this helps!
Time to play TUG-A-WAR!! HEY....you gotta' hook em to cook em!

I was running the chart view for running from spot to spot, not sure if I had the SI setting turned off by doing this, at low speeds I was using the SI view and the split screen with SI and DI. I'll read the manual again. Is there a setting to turn SI off?

You may want to do a reset to default and see if that will clear everything up first of all. If that doesn't work then if you can find someone running a SI unit and see if does the same thing on there boat. If these two things don't work you probably need to call Humminbird and talk to a customer service person.

Here is a youtube video also of how to level transducer. But yours looks pretty good to me the way it is set as far as reading the depth.

Now you will not be able to do or si at speed. But while on chat view at speed you should be able to see depth.
