I just purchased a 60amp minn kota circuit breaker from a local marine center and will install this afternoon. Hopefully this solves the problem! I will give an update.

Well that's strike two! Put on the circuit breaker and same thing happened. On to the battery now. It is a 3 month old battery so I will test it and see if it's putting out the right power.

Check out "Conductor Gauge And Circuit Breaker Sizing Table" at Minn Kota web site under support and see if the problem could be wire gauge.

Sounds like a bad connection. If you can pull the connector out so you can get to the back side, measure the voltage while the motor is off, then ramp up the speed and see how it holds.
